Barbie as Marilyn

Hollywood Legends Collection In 1997, Mattel released a set of three Barbie dolls portraying Marilyn in some of her most famous costumes; Seven Year Itch and 2 from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. I think these dolls are wonderful! Not only are the costumes highly detailed but the display boxes are simply gorgeous.
Timeless Treasures Marilyn In 2002, Mattel released the first in a celebrity line of Marilyn dolls. These dolls were not Barbie, they were made with Marilyn's features. PHOTO FROM MY COLLECTION I really was not impressed with the first doll. It featured Marilyn in the Happy Birthday Mr. President gown but it wasn't a very high quality product. In fact, I preferred the earlier series of Barbie dolls. The gown flared out at the bottom unlike the original and the display box that she came in was nothing special. PHOTO FROM MY COLLECTION The second doll in this series is based on How To Marry A Millionaire and the doll comes with a second outfit. I was more impressed with this doll than the first one. The box itself is much nicer to display her in and the outfits are true to the originals...right down to the pair of glasses she has in her hands!

Marilyn Inspired Barbies
